With financial support from the Blue Action Fund, Wetlands International Eastern Africa is implementing a project on ‘Strengthening Marine Protected Areas Management in Rufiji, Mafia and Kilwa District in Tanzania’.

The main objective of the programme is to support long-term conservation of ecological integrity, resilience and biological productivity of the Rufiji – Mafia – Kilwa (RUMAKI) Seascape as an internationally important biodiversity hotspot supporting the livelihoods of natural resource dependent communities.
