Wetlands International participates in the african blue carbon scientific work group meeting opened on wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 in Zanzibar ending on September 25th.

image40A four member delegation of conducted by Wetlands International is representing West Africa to this important workshop. This official delegation includes Mr Ibrahima Thiam, regional director of Wetlands International Africa, Professor Bienvenu Sambou, Director of the Institute of Environmental Sciences (ISE) of the Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (Sénégal), Dr Mallé Diagana, project manager of the Convention on Biological Diversity at PRCM and Leonildo Alves Cardoso of the Biodiversity Institute of Marine Protected Areas (IBAP) in Guinea-Bissau.

The participation of the West African delegation is funded by MAVA Foundation.
