As the IWRM and Partnership Specialist, I am responsible for the coordination between sectoral and inter-regional stakeholders in addition to strengthening partnerships in the Central Rift Valley in Ethiopia.
Before joining Wetlands International, I served as a senior water resources researcher and modeling expert focusing on water resource planning, allocation, monitoring and evaluation, and implementation for Awash Basin Authority. In my early career, I worked as a hydrogeologist for Gambella Water and Energy Bureau where I investigated potential groundwater sites for drinking water supply for the local communities.
I studied Applied Geology at Mekelle University in Ethiopia. My love for wetlands motivated me to join the organisation as it is the only one of its kind in my country.
I love debates, exchange of ideas and perspectives as they drive me to counter challenges and provide solutions for our communities.
