An innovative approach to mangrove restoration
In this short video, Mr. Abdoul Karim SALL, President of the Management Committee of Joal Fadiouth Marine Protected Area, tells us how he and his community are mobilizing to save the mangrove. They have been able to adapt and adopt an innovative and rigorous approach based on community engagement. According to Mr. SALL nothing is done at random, the whole process is well prepared and well followed from beginning to end. In the end he calls for more communication and ownership in the mangrove restoration campaigns.
This initiative is accompanied by Mangrove Capital Africa (MCA), a program of Wetlands International funded by the DoB Ecology Foundation.

Dans cette courte vidéo, Monsieur Abdoul Karim SALL, Président du comité de gestion de l’Aire Marine Protégée de Joal Fadiouth, nous raconte comment lui et sa communauté se mobilisent pour sauvegarder la mangrove. Ils ont su s’adapter et adopter une démarche innovante et rigoureuse basée sur l’engagement communautaire. Selon Monsieur SALL rien n’est fait au hasard, tout le processus est bien préparé et bien suivi du début à la fin. En fin il lance un appel pour plus de communication et d’appropriation dans les campagnes de restauration de la mangrove.
